CORPORATE FINANCE The raising of unsecured finance, and equity funding. Businesses can normally borrow up to an acceptable level of gearing. When they reach that point of being ‘fully borrowed' then they cannot borrow further unless equity or unsecured funds are introduced to bring the gearing level down. We also use Government guaranteed loan schemes, and unsecured bank loans. Top of Page
FACTORING A Borrowing facility secured on the whole sales ledger. The lender agrees to advance the client normally around 80% of the value of their invoices as soon as the job is done and the invoice raised. The factoring company collects the settlement of the invoice, and then pays the client the balance of the invoice, less a handling fee and interest. Disclosed Factoring is where the recipient of the client's invoice is asked to pay the factorer direct, undisclosed is where they are paying the client, but sending the cheque to a nominated account controlled by the factorer. Recourse factoring is where the lender will ask for his money back if he has not been able to collect settlement of the invoice. Top of Page
